The Toyota Innova Car, the matchless MPV in India, is sold for a price ranging from 10.21 lakh to 15.07 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The current edition, also called the Innova facelift, was launched a year ago and it is going as strong as ever. Although the car did undergo some changes, it was more or less cosmetic in nature. The company left the mechanicals of the car untouched.

The major changes found in the face-lifted version of Innova are revamped front bumper with adequate chrome garnish on the radiator grille, fog lamp surround and side molding. The rear too features a touch of chrome with reflectors. However, the chrome add-ons are only found on the VX and Z trims.

The interiors of the Innova facelift are also mostly unchanged. Nevertheless, a slight change is effected by tweaking the multimedia system and offering faux wood finish on the doors and gear knob. The dual tone seats add to the desirability and appeal of the car on the inside.

The 2014 Toyota Innova, or the Innova facelift, comes with a new top-end Z variant, which comes with only a diesel engine option, in the 7-seat arrangement. All the other trims offer both 7-seat and 8-seat design options.

Comfort features included in the Innova facelift include a touch-screen infotainment system with DVD, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity (offered with the VX and Z variants), grey wooden panel, chrome on parking brake button, ‘premium’ floor mats, leather seats, new body graphics, chrome muffler cutter and rear spoiler among others. The face-lifted Innova is offered in six color schemes – silver, gold, white, grey, blue and red.

The Innova facelift is powered by the same tried and tested 2.5-litre diesel engine generating a top power of 102 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm. The engine is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Safety is ensured through features like reverse parking camera, driver and front passenger airbag, ABS and many more.
